Step 1
No matter what age, everyone can benefit from a basic Life Skills Review.
Life Skills build progressively as we grow and develop. If one skill is a challenge then going on to a more advanced skill is much more difficult.
These skills checklists from ages 4-18 are great for review and teaching:

Step 2
Around age 18 we should have mastered early-age skills to prepare for moving out, living on our own, starting a family, running a house. All require higher-level skills. Without the confidence built by learning, practicing, and being fully in charge life is WAY more difficult.
Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses so don’t feel pressure to be fully qualified in every area. The most important factor is honesty with self. If Finance is a real problem (which it was for me), a lack of knowledge and skills can have huge consequences. Seek that level of mastery that makes you feel confident and happy with yourself.
Step 3
A secret to a better life..be a lifelong learner! As humans, we are designed to learn on an on-going basis. Being curious, interested in the world, enables us to keep an open mind about what’s next for us. Setting a new goal for ourselves and then seeking knowledge, learning, applying our new skills, and eventually attaining mastery is a cycle that keeps us feeling more fulfilled in all areas of life. Research and learn something that can be learned in small chunks and that you can see more immediate results. For instance, cooking, sewing, gardening, small car repairs, learning to parallel park.

Step 4
Be the teacher! There is almost nothing more rewarding to me than passing on lessons that I have mastered and then watching someone else take their new skill, master it, and then pass it on again.
